I'm a Single Woman and Want a Baby in the Netherlands
A single woman in the Netherlands most commonly becomes a mother through a known donor arrangement or IUI/IVF with donor sperm at a licensed clinic — standard health insurance doesn't cover donor-sperm treatment since lacking a male partner isn't a recognized medical indication, but a separate government subsidy funds up to 12 IUI attempts through 1 January 2030, and as a single mother by choice you become the child's sole legal parent automatically at birth unless the donor later formally acknowledges the child.
